Analysis of the Influence of Organophosphorus Compounds and of Aluminium and Magnesium Hydroxides on Combustion Properties of Epoxy Materials

This paper presents the influence of selected flame retardant additives on heat release rate and thermokinetics properties epoxy materials made resin—Epidian 5. The resin underwent modification with use organophosphorus compounds (Roflam F5, Roflam B7) Al(OH)3, Mg(OH)2. fire characteristics analysed were determined using cone calorimeter method, thermal analysis surface morphology was an SEM microscope EDS attachment. lowest value recorded for hardened containing one component additive 5% by weight Mg(OH)2, as well two 10% F5 Al(OH)3. Moreover, initial temperature decomposition phase I modified samples Mg(OH)2 (sample 5M) or (samples 5B + 10M 5F 10M) higher compared to unmodified these samples. Considering it can be concluded that cause a homogeneous charred layer.
